Hello, when I press the keyboard lighting button, the lighting only switches on briefly and then goes off again. When I press my mute button, the LED in the button no longer lights up. It's the same with my locking key, where the LED no longer works either.
How can I fix this?
I look forward to replying.

Hi @Convetible24,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the keyboard's connection or the drivers controlling the keyboard functions. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve hardware issues.
- Check keyboard settings: Make sure that the keyboard lighting and LED settings are configured correctly in your computer's settings or control panel. Sometimes, updates or changes to system settings can affect these functions.
- Update keyboard drivers: Ensure that your keyboard drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the Device Manager (on Windows) or System Preferences (on Mac), finding your keyboard under the "Keyboards" section, and updating the drivers from there.
- Check for firmware updates: If your keyboard has firmware that can be updated, check the HP website for any available updates and install them.
- Inspect physical connections: Check the physical connection of your keyboard to your computer. If it's a wired keyboard, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both the keyboard and the computer. If it's a wireless keyboard, make sure the batteries are not depleted and that the wireless receiver is plugged in properly.
- Try a different USB port: If you're using a USB keyboard, try plugging it into a different USB port on your computer to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, USB ports can become faulty.
- Test the keyboard on another computer: If possible, try connecting your keyboard to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the keyboard itself or with your computer's settings/drivers.
By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to identify and resolve the issue with your keyboard's lighting and LED functions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
