Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Im am connecting my Zbook portable workstation to an HP LP3065 monitor through the HP 230W Docking Station (A7E34AA), and I can only get up to 1280x800 on the display resolution options of the  Control Panel.

This display has only three DVI input ports.

I am using a new Dual-link DVI cable (24+1 pins) male to male to connect the docking to the display.

I have an NVidia Quadro K2100M with up to date drivers.

How can I get the native resolution of the display (2560x1600)?

SOLVED!!  :generic:

I have finally managed to get to the native resolution:

I am using the following adapter:
Display Port to DVI Dual Link Active Adapter Converter, powered by USB, that sup`ports ressolutions up to 2560x1600 @ 60 Hz, from "Club 3D B.V." :

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B005IKC2VC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And then a Dual Link DVI 24+1 cable, as it's the only input accepted by the LP3065:

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00JKHMF9S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The cost for the first one was 120€, the DVI -DVI costs less than 8€

It works both from the PC DisplayPort and from the Docking Station.

Thanks to all who tried to help!

@isard

Have you tried to use two cables at the monitor end ? It has Three DVI-D connectors with two DVI-D cables included because with single link you can only have 1280x800 max as mentioned in:

I think that it has three DVI Dual-link inputs so that ya can connect three computers to the same display, not to use two inputs with the same computer.
I do not think it will help.

From: http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04407527#

do you have: 15.6" diagonal LEDbacklit / QHD+ UWVA eDP / anti-glare (3200 x 1800)

or the 1920-by-1080 resolution?

HP Recommended

My PC has a 1920x1080 screen.

I can connect to a Z24 nq display (2560x1440) using a DP cable, and I can also connect to a 2560x1600 HP 30" display at the office, using a DP cable as well.

But I cannot connect to the LP3065 using a Dual Link DVI cable using the docking DVI output and get the 2560x1600 native resolution. It shows1280x800 as the recommended resolution (?!)

I have the ZBook Gen 1, not G2.

Is this a direct connection from your computer via a DisplayPort cable to a DP monitor?

Does this work when the docking-station *IS* connected between your computer and your monitor?

Can you connect your computer to the docking-station, and then use the DisplayPort output from the docking-station to the Z24NQ display?  What resolution do you achieve?

Perhaps, 1280x800 is the maximum resolution supported by the docking-station ???

IT WORKS BOTH WAYS: WHEN CONNECTED TO THE PC AND ALSO WHEN CONNECTED TO THE DISPLAY PORT OF THE DOCKING STATION

I CAN ACHIEVE  2560x1440

THAT CAN BE THE CASE; BUT IS WEIRD AS THE DOCKING MANUAL SUGGESTS THAT DVI and DISPLAY PORTS (FOR A SIMILAR MODEL) ARE "PAIRED" AND YOU CANNOT USE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME.

> The docking manual suggests that DVI and DP are "paired", and cannot be used at the same time.

What does that manual say about the maximum resolution supported by the DVI port, versus the DisplayPort?

It does not say anything about the DVI port resolution.
