I bought my new laptop recently. However, when I tried connect it to my HP monitor using USB-C, it just wouldn't connect. Instead I get the standard error message "Display Connection may be limited".
I have done the following but I still can't manage to get my laptop connected to my screen:
1. All windows 11 update installed
2. All HP updates installed
3. Tried troubleshooting and installed the appropriate softwares
But still, it does not work. My HP monitor is actually new, made back in Q4 2023 so I do not believe it is too old.
Can anyone help please?

The specs of your machine is a combination of
https://support.hp.com/vn-en/document/ish_7716688-7716733-16
It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port; 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

Thank you for the detailed explanation. To be honest, I was only going to connect to one single monitor via USB-C.
Based on what you have shared, I guess it is not going to be possible, which I did not expect at all, considering the machine model is not old at all. I tried yesterday to connect the laptop to a power main but still could not get the screen to work as I suspected it did not have the right power output.
I guess my options are very much limited now. So USB-C alone is not going to be possible at all?
Thanks
