I have an HP Laptop 17 cn 3xxx and a portable Blackview DCM6 monitor for laptops, 14" FHD, 1080P IPS, dual display – i.e. for two additional monitors. But even with a WAVLINK USB 3.1/USB C to Dual HDMI adapter, DisplayLink Dual 4K@60Hz Monitor Hub, which I bought especially for this purpose, only one of the two additional monitors can be made to work.
How can this be changed?

Hi @17957,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • How the monitors are connected (which ports are used on the adapter and laptop)?
  • Whether both monitors are detected in Windows Display Settings, or if only one shows up?
  • If you’ve installed the latest DisplayLink drivers?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  • Update drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers and DisplayLink drivers are fully up to date. HP Support Assistant can help with system updates.
  • Check Windows Display Settings: Go to Settings > System > Display and see if both monitors appear. If one is listed as “disconnected,” try enabling it.
  • Test ports individually: Connect each monitor one at a time to confirm both HDMI outputs on the adapter are functional.
  • Power and cables: Ensure the adapter is powered properly (some hubs require external power) and that both HDMI cables are working.
  • USB port type: Verify that you’re using a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode or a USB-A port with DisplayLink drivers. Some laptop ports may not support dual external displays natively.

I hope this helps.

I've tried everything. It seems that my laptop (HP Laptop 17-cn3175ng) only has an HDMI port and the USB C and USB A slots don't send AV data. Is that possible? And if so, what can be done about it?

Hi @17957,

Thanks for your response.

I completely understand It looks like your HP Laptop 17-cn3175ng may indeed only support video output through its single HDMI port. Many HP consumer laptops have USB-C and USB-A ports that are data-only, meaning they don’t carry video signals unless specifically designed with DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt support.

I hope this helps.
