My laptop is a few years old so I'm sure it's out of warranty but it has developed a crack near the left hinge that has spread towards the right hinge and now it is almost impossible to open or close the screen.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Since this is a Hardware issue I suggest you contact HP Support for Service Options

 

Click on this link -www.hp.com/contacthp/ and select your Country to get the Contact details for HP Support
