HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-d6000 (B0ST0AV)

I have a HP 14 laptop.  Trying to set up old Dell monitor P2314H.  Connecting monitor's displayport to HDMI into adapter.  Adapter is plugged into USB-C slot in laptop.

That is the first problem. You have to use BIDIRECTIONAL HDMI-DP (on monitor) cable otherwise this won't work. What is your adapter ? Is it compatible with your computer ?

Given your adapter is compatible with your machine, please try BIDIRECTIONAL HDMI-DP (on monitor) cable first.

Regards.

My Dell monitors are older and they do not have HDMI ports.  These are the ports available.

How do I know if adapter is compatible?  I am using Windows 11 with a new HP 14 laptop.
