Microsoft Windows 11

Opening the screen lid just when at about 90° hear a small click sound coming from an hinge.
Do I have to worry?
Can it cause a breakdown?
I have already had a problem with the hinge of an X360.

The 15s models' case is full plastic.
I have found that the case was not correctly closed, probably a bad assembly.
I removed all the screws, opened the case, closed again and the problem seems disappeared.

Hi@AntonioDB,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

I will contact the HP support, but the problem is that the notebook is NEW, the sound was present the first time I had opened the lid, just after out  the original box!
I think that HP has a lack in the quality controls.

Hi@AntonioDB,

Thank you for posting back. I appreciate your time and effort.

The little sound when opening the screen lid on the brand new PC could be the plastic rubbing. The hinge itself is fine. Just the black plastic of the lower side of the display rubs on the metal.

So you need not worry right now. In future if the issue persist then it could be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
