@PRIYANSHU03, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where the touchpad on your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dy0186TU is not working and the cursor is not visible. You've also run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics and received a message indicating a problem with the mouse button.
Let’s go through a few steps to help resolve this:
Perform a Hard Reset
Sometimes, a hard reset can resolve hardware detection issues.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop.
Check Touchpad Enable/Disable Settings
It’s possible the touchpad is disabled.
- Press Fn + F6 (or F6 alone, depending on your model) to toggle the touchpad on/off.
- Alternatively, go to:
- Settings > Devices > Touchpad
- Ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers
Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause touchpad issues.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on the touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN) and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (Again)
Since the initial test showed a hardware issue, it’s good to confirm:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter diagnostics.
- Run the Touchpad or Mouse Test again.
If the test still shows a hardware failure, the touchpad hardware may need servicing. Then, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
