OMEN by HP 15-ce0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For about a year my laptop screen would occasionally suddenly dim the brightness and the screen would flicker,  but then it would resolve on its own after a while. But this time it appears to not be going away. I have an external display for drawing connected and the display isn't affected on that one. However recently I've tried updating/resetting the display drivers several times because that worked the last time this happened two weeks ago but isn't working now. I'm really curious on how to permanently fix it.

Also, another odd thing that's been going on recently is that the monitor would have purple, pixelated waves moving from the bottom to the top of the screen when I have seemingly too many youtube tabs on google chrome?

Help with these annoying issues would be great!

Welcome to HP Support Community

I would like to help

Since the issue does not occur on the external monitor, this is likely to be a Hardware issue

I suggest you check in BIOS and let me know if you face the same issue

Shut down the Notebook and upon restarting keep tapping on F10 key till you reach BIOS

If the issue persists in BIOS, please contact HP Support in your region for service options

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Thank you

Hello Krazy Toad,

Thank you for replying. I've tried tapping f10 repeatedly but the BIOS window didn't appear, so is there another way/key command for starting that up? Also, my screen isn't having another flickering episode for now, so should I restarting with the BIOS thing only when it reoccurs? And one more thing, when in the BIOS mode, is there a specific setting I would need to change to try to stop the screen flickering?

Thank you,
