HP Pavilion TS 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For past eight weeks my Mouse has been frame-jumping and my Keyboard suffered half-second delays, after a Windows 10 Update.  This was identified as affecting only laptops with AMD Chipset and its AMD Display Drivers.  Two weeks ago, I found a "fix" called AMD Cleanup Utility.exe and after running it, the problem was resolved.  BUT the "fix" does not remain !  After a day or two, the same problem returns.  I then run the AMD Utility and I'm back to normal.  How do I RETAIN the correct Display Drivers ? ? ?   23rd September 2020

BELOW IS THE "QUICK FIX"----------------

As at 1100 – Thursday 15th October 2020 on my HP Pavilion TS 15 Notebook, the Mouse is NOT Frame‑Jumping and the Keyboard no longer has half-second delays on each key depression.

All this has been effected by changing within Windows 10 Device Manager the Display Adapter. It showed AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8330, which was the problem, so left–click to highlight, then right‑click to show Properties, Left‑Click on the Driver tab and then Left‑Click on Rollback Driver.

As long as the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is available, it will take over and it works effectively = No More Mouse Frame-Jumping or Keyboard key-depression delays !

BELOW IS THE BACKGROUND TO "THE QUICK FIX"

I don’t know which – if EITHER – of the two Windows Updates (KB4569745 & KB4566782) which were installed on 12th August 2020 caused the problem, but I DO know that my “Mouse Frame-Jumping” and “Keyboard Half-Second Delays “ started from that date.   In the interim, I found a Utility called “AMD Cleanup Utility.exe”, which fixed the problem, but the beneficial effect lasted for half-a-day only or sometimes even a whole day, BUT the problem would return.

After 6-8 weeks of trial and error, I came to the conclusion that the AMD software was programmed to re-install itself every time the computer was re-started and that it was the AMD software that was, itself, the problem.

Eventually, having copied the AMD Display Adapter software for “AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8330” to my Backup HDD – just in case – I “shredded” the AMD Software on the “C” Drive and using the Windows 10 Device Manager, I “Rolled Back” the “AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8330” to the “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter”.  Napoleon61 – as at 23 October 2020.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
