Hi @pratyush1929,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
When the backlit mute button on your Victus By HP 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop 15-Fb0000 (598U8AV) is functioning but the backlight is not working, it could be due to a software issue, driver problem, or a setting that needs to be adjusted. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Keyboard Backlight Settings
Adjust Keyboard Backlight Settings:
- Press the F4 key (or the key with the backlight icon) to cycle through the backlight brightness settings. Make sure the backlight is not turned off.
Use HP OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Open the HP OMEN Gaming Hub application.
- Go to the Lighting section and check the settings for the keyboard backlight. Ensure that the backlight is enabled and configured correctly.
2. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers
Update Drivers:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your keyboard device and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
3. Update HP Software and Drivers
HP Support Assistant:
- Open the HP Support Assistant application.
- Check for updates and install any available updates for your laptop, especially those related to the keyboard or system BIOS.
HP Drivers and Software:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model (Victus By HP 15-Fb0000).
- Download and install the latest BIOS and drivers for your laptop.
Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
