My HP laptop 15 generation series. The screen gets blurry every 1-3 seconds. For the past 2 years it is not yet solved. Looking for permanent solution. Please help.

Hi @9007952258

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since it's been happening for two years without resolution. Let's get this sorted with some targeted troubleshooting.

Potential Causes & Fixes

1. Check Display Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
  • Expand Display Adapters → Right-click your GPU (Intel/NVIDIA/AMD) → Update Driver.
  • Select Search automatically for drivers.
  • If that doesn’t fix it, try uninstalling the driver, restarting, and letting Windows reinstall it.

2. Change Refresh Rate Settings

  • Right-click on the desktop → Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Advanced display settingsRefresh Rate.
  • Ensure it's set to the highest available (e.g., 60Hz or 120Hz, depending on your screen).

3. Disable Adaptive Brightness & Power Saving Features

  • Go to SettingsSystemDisplay.
  • Under Brightness & Color, disable Adaptive Brightness.
  • In Power Options, disable Display Power Saving Technology (if available).

4. Check for Background Processes Causing Lag

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Look for high CPU/GPU usage—some processes may interfere with display rendering.
  • Try closing background apps, especially third-party screen filters or gaming overlays.

5. Perform a Clean Boot

  • Open System Configuration (Win + R, type msconfig).
  • Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then Disable all.
  • Restart and see if the screen behavior changes.

6. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off your laptop → Press F2 repeatedly while powering it on.
  • Run the Display Test to check for hardware faults.

7. Check Physical Connections

  • If you've opened the laptop before or replaced parts, a loose display cable inside could cause flickering.
  • If you're comfortable, reseating the display connector may help—but a technician might be needed.

8. Test External Monitor

  • Connect an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C.
  • If the external display works fine, the issue is likely with the laptop screen itself.
  • If the external monitor also flickers, it’s probably a graphics-related issue.

Let me know what you've tried so far, and I'll help refine the approach!
