Hello community,

I have had this problem since yesterday night. After leaving my computer for exactly less than 30 seconds, I returned and found it off. When I turned it on, all my pages are exactly how I left them. I thought it was just random and a one time occurence, except it keeps happening over and over when I leave my laptop for a glass of water and those type of errands.

Aproximately 2 months ago, my laptop suffered a hit below the keyboard and the hard drive had to be replaced/rebooted. It was sent to HP. I do not know if it was replaced or just rebooted.

But this was 2 months ago, and since then, my laptop has not suffered any other injuries. No spills, nothing. So I am completely unaware of what is the cause of this. Please help, it is getting very frustrating when I am writing.

Sincerely,

Carolina

Hi! @Carolina0529, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

As you mentioned the laptop is shutting down randomly.

I understand your concern and frustration your facing don't worry I'll to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Have you tried checking with a different adapter or battery?

Is your laptop getting overheated?

Does your laptop shut down while you are in BIOS?

Please find the reasons why your laptop is shutting down randomly.

It could be overheating, due to a failed fan.

It could be "over-temperature", such that the motherboard is proactively shutting it down, to prevent a problem.

It could be a fault with the hardware: motherboard, the RAM, the CPU, or the power supply.
In this case, changing software is not going to help.

Try updating the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
