Hi @Shubham_18,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A blank screen on your HP 15 laptop when you first turn it on, but which eventually works after restarting, can be caused by several issues. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down your laptop completely by holding the power button.
- Unplug all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) from the laptop.:
- If your HP 15 laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if removed) and plug in the power adapter. Press the power button to turn on the laptop.
2. Check for Display Issues
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable. If the external display works, the issue might be with your laptop's internal display or connections.
- Sometimes the screen might be too dim. Adjust the brightness using the function keys (usually Fn + F2 or F3).
- Look closely at the screen for any faint images. If you see something, the issue could be with the backlight.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
- Restart your laptop and press F8 (or Shift + F8) during startup to access Safe Mode.
- Alternatively, if you can access Windows, go to Device Manager > Display adapters and update your graphics driver.
- Go to the HP Support website or use Windows Update to check for the latest graphics driver updates.
4. Check for Hardware Issues
- If you’re comfortable with hardware, reseat the RAM and hard drive. Loose components can sometimes cause startup issues.
- Check internal connections for the display. This usually requires opening the laptop and might be best done by a professional if you're not experienced.
5. BIOS/UEFI Update
- Restart your laptop and press the ESC, F2, or F10 key (depending on your model) to enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Look for an option to update the BIOS. Sometimes an update can resolve hardware initialization issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
