Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I saw this posted earlier without a registered solution I know I have the exact same problem.

The computers keyboard shuts off when it's oriented up like a laptop but turns back on when it get oriented down. The whole computer is flipped. For example when I fold the computer to enter tablet mode the key board turns on, but when I unfold it it turns off. I dont know why this is happening but it's made the laptop useless.

@Jugernoobs

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried all of the above steps with no results, my feeling is this is an issue with the “Intel Integrated Sensor” driver, the SensorInfo app shows all the sensors have the correct calibration but the device disabled the keyboard and trackpad in laptop position and enables it in tablet position or if you tilt the laptop 45 degrees backwards.

the model is HP Spectre 13-4104na and when I try to install the Intel Integrated Sensor from the HP drivers page it says this device is not supported which is bizarre as HP gave me the drivers after putting the modal number in.

The laptop works perfectly if used at a 45 degree angle obviously not practical) please can you help by looking into integrated sensor driver and giving me advice?

Thanks

@Jugernoobs

I recommend you update the BIOS and the Intel firmware from the below link and check if it helps.
