HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y1AV)

Hi Ma'am / Sir,

Good Day! I would like to seek for your assistance with regards to my laptop. When it reaches 30% of battery power, it randomly dims and brighten my LCD. I tried to edit it in my power control including adjusting my brightness, disabling adaptive brightness but still the problem persist. Hoping for your kind assistance to resolve this matter. Thanks!

Best Regards,

Mark

Hi @markcdeang

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Power Settings

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected plan.
  • Click on "Change advanced power settings."
  • Expand the Display section and check settings for Adaptive brightness. Make sure it's disabled for both battery and plugged in.

2. Update Graphics Drivers

  • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues.
  • Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button).
  • Expand the Display adapters section, right-click on your graphics driver, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

3. Adjust Battery Saver Settings

  • Sometimes, battery saver settings can cause the display to behave unexpectedly.
  • Go to Settings > System > Battery and check if Battery Saver is causing the dimming. You might try turning it off temporarily to see if that helps.

4. Check for Windows Updates

  • Ensure your Windows is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

5. Test in Safe Mode

  • Boot your laptop into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, there might be a software conflict that needs addressing.

6. Reset Power Options

  • You can reset all power settings to default:
  • Open a command prompt as administrator and enter
