I have no switch to turn on. It is built into my computer. It is allowed to be used with all apps. I can't find it in the device manager I've updated everything like I've been told. I asked Microsoft and they said it is not a problem with windows and to contact HP. The virtual person did not help at all and the Microsoft member said "there are drivers missing for my camera and are not available on their (HP) website. She said to contact HP to have them install them.

@TINYz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What model HP Computer are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

For now, install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Also, check for any pending windows update. Reboot the computer.

Let us perform a hardware test on the webcam:

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. Perform Component Test > Webcam test. Share the result on your next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@TINYz

To find the specific driver, I need the exact model number of the Notebook. Convertible 15-df0xxx is a generic one. Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Also, did you run the test on the camera? What was the result?

Keep me posted.

I understand your concerns.

Please perform the system reset.

Windows 10 has a reset feature that repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This feature is recommended for recovery because it reinstalls Windows 10 while either preserving your personal data and customizations or removing all your personal data.

You have a choice of two methods to reset your computer.

  • If Windows 10 loads correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows in this document.

  • If Windows 10 does not start correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset through Windows Recovery Environment in this document.

Have a nice day!!
