@Stardust2500, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that your HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 15-ed1000 is not detecting the touchscreen functionality under Windows 11, and even the BIOS does not list any touchscreen input devices. Let’s work through this step-by-step to get your touchscreen working.
Confirm Touchscreen Hardware is Detected
Let’s first check whether Windows is detecting the touchscreen hardware:
- Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices.
- Look for an entry such as HID-compliant touch screen.
- If present but disabled, right-click and select Enable device.
- If missing, proceed to the next steps.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics in BIOS
Even if you don’t see a touchscreen test in BIOS, it’s good to run a full component test:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Press the Power button and immediately tap Esc repeatedly.
- At the Startup Menu, press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Choose Component Tests > Touch Screen (if available).
If the touchscreen test is not available, that may indicate hardware is not being detected by the BIOS either.
Update the BIOS and Chipset Drivers
Outdated firmware or chipset drivers may prevent touchscreen hardware from initializing.
Visit the official HP drivers page for your model: Official HP® Support
- Download and install:
- Latest BIOS update under “BIOS”.
- Latest Intel Chipset driver under “Driver-Chipset”.
- Any Input or Touch-related drivers under “Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices”.
- Restart your laptop after installation.
Use HP Support Assistant
Let HP automatically detect and install any missing drivers:
- Download and install HP Support Assistant from: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Open the app and go to Updates tab.
- Install any recommended updates.
Check Windows Optional Updates
Sometimes, touchscreen drivers are available via Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates.
- Look for any driver updates related to HID or Touchscreen and install them.
Perform a System Reset (Optional Last Resort)
If all else fails, consider performing a system reset to factory defaults after backing up your data:
Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

thank you for your inputs, but up to know it didn't help but i'm not through with all stepps (bios update). what is confusing me is that when I go to hp support software download the newest windows version isn't an option to choose. could that be the problem (latest update is windows 22H2(64)bits on hp support, but my windows verion is windows home 24H2).
