In September of last year I bought an hp specter x360 and honestly its amazing, however today i decided to use the Mpp 2.0 rechargeable tilt pen that came with the laptop for some work, soi read the instructions and they clearly said to either charge the device with the included ac adapter included with the laptop or a usb-c cable that was sold seperatly for 45 mins. i then waiten for 45 mins and the pen wasnt done charging so i waited again and agian and again for a total of 4 HOURS and it still isnt charged and since it has to be fully charged for the first usage what do i do pleaaaaase help my warrenty expired btw.

Hi @marwan29,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
1. Check Charging Cable and Adapter
- Verify the Cable and Adapter: Ensure that the USB-C cable and the adapter you’re using are in good working condition. If possible, try using a different USB-C cable or adapter that is known to work with other devices.
- Inspect Connections: Check the USB-C port on both the pen and the charging cable for any dust or debris that might be preventing a proper connection.
2. Examine the Pen
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the pen for any signs of physical damage that might affect its ability to charge.
- Reset the Pen: Some devices can benefit from a reset. If there is a reset procedure for the pen, follow the instructions in the user manual or online.
3. Charge Through Different Ports
- Use Different USB Ports: Try charging the pen through different USB-C ports on your laptop or other USB-C charging sources.
- Try a Different Device: If you have access to another device that uses USB-C for charging, try charging the pen with that device to rule out any issues with the laptop’s port.
4. Verify Charging Instructions
- Consult the Manual: Double-check the user manual or HP’s official support documentation for any specific charging instructions or troubleshooting tips.
- Correct Charging Procedure: Ensure you are following the correct procedure for charging, including any steps required before the first use.
5. Check for Firmware or Software Updates
- Update Drivers: Ensure that all relevant drivers for the pen and the laptop are up-to-date. You can check for updates on HP’s support website or through the device manager on your laptop.
- Update Firmware: Check if there’s any firmware update available for the pen. Sometimes HP release updates to fix charging or connectivity issues.
6. Test with Another Pen
- Use a Different Pen: If possible, test with another HP pen or similar device to see if it charges correctly. This will help determine if the issue is with the pen itself or the charging process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
