That did not help. I even bought another cable, HDMI to USB c and that didn't work either. My MacBook does not offer me arrangement options on my display preferences menu anymore.  It only offered it once. What is going on?

Thanks!

Hi @imperialvelocit

I recommend you to connect the USB type C cable to the monitor and to the computer. In the monitor menu, select the input source as USB type C and you should be able to get the display.

Let me know how it goes.

That is what I did first. It only allowed me to connect once and never again. I tried the USB C again. No luck. My OS on the Mac is up to date. I could get my Mac to recognize the display with the HDMI to USB C cable, but the mirrored screen would not show up on the monitor.

Hi @imperialvelocit

I recommend you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time to mirror the display.

That only turns my laptop off. Is it possible I have a bunk monitor? I find it so hard to believe connecting a brand new HP monitor to a brand new Mac Book Pro would be so complicated. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Tracy

Hi @imperialvelocit,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand you have followed the steps suggested from the previous post and still having the issue, don't worry as I have a few other steps which should help you to resolve this concern,

I would suggest you first try to perform a Monitor self-test and check if that helps.

Alternatively, you could try this monitor on another PC and check if this works.

Please let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Are you able to provide the instructions for the self test? Is that in the on-screen menu?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @imperialvelocit,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

In order to perform a Monitor self-test, you need to disconnect the Monitor cable from the back of the monitor and check for the warning message such as 'check video signal'.

You could also try to perform a factory reset on the Monitor,  Press the Menu - Navigate to Factory reset - Yes/No - Select Yes.

Please perform the steps suggested in the previous post and get back to us with the results for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
