HP Spectre x 360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I just purchased the HP Spectre and initially added my fingerprint in the setup. However, after 2 days I decided to add another but it wouldn't let me. Then it wouldn't enable me to use the fingerprint at all. So I deleted the original one in hopes that it would work, but it still didn't. I already looked into it and I have the latest hardware. Does anyone have any suggestions, I literally just bought it.

@PinappleJuice Welcome to HP Community!

I see from your post that you're having issues related to adding a second fingerprint reader on your HP notebook.

In order to add the second fingerprint, you would need to scan the first one,

Have you tried to add a PIN instead of adding a second fingerprint scanner.

In the meantime, I would suggest you try these steps here:

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Next thing, I would suggest here is to follow the steps to add the second fingerprint to your account:

1. Open the Settings app, and click/tap on the Accounts icon.

2. Click/tap on Sign-in options on the left side, and click/tap on Add another for Fingerprint under Windows Hello on the right side.
3. Click/tap on Get started.
4. Enter your PIN or scan an added finger to verify it's you.
5. Scan your finger on the fingerprint reader. You will need to scan your finger a few times to set up with Windows Hello.
6. When all set, click/tap on Close, or click/tap on Add another and go to step 5 above.
