Suddenly i am into trouble as today after installing hp webcam driver  i am facing  "non detection of web cam" warning after installing both hp mediasmart webcam & cyberlink you cam.

1. With the aforesaid warning it is also asking to attach a webcam or turn on hp integrated camera.

2. Moreover in device manager i could not find Imaging Device option.

3. I tried  to add that Imaging device  option via "Add Legacy" but there also i could not find any option of the same.

4. Previously there was no issue with it although  i dont generally use web cam  hence can't remember when was it functioned correctly.

5. Hardware troubleshooting did not provide any fruitful result.

Need  urgent help to get rid of this issue

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

uninstall the drivers from the device manager.

1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it.

2. In the device manager, expand the category "Imaging devices".

3. Under this category, right-click on your driver and click on Uninstall.

4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button.

5. Restart the computer.

Keep me posted.

Have a great day!

Cheers 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. This is to inform you

1.  Under Imaging Device in device manager  there is only one item  named " Xerox  work centre/Pro WIA scanner"   and this  has been added by me via add legacy in Device Manager and it's driver is showing working. If i delete  this  then  "whole Imaging Device"  will be vanished from Device Manager since there is no other device under the aforesaid section.

2.  Moreover after installing  hp mediasmart  webcam  i have noticed that  in Device manager under "Sound Video game Controller "  an item has been added named " Webcam Splitter"

I recommend you try to use System Restore and restore back your PC to a system condition from 1-2 days before the issue started.
