OMEN 15-ce011dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP OMEN 15-ce011dx and about a year ago, a few of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. The back light still works for all of the keys but there is no response when pressing "q, w, e, r, a, s, d, f". All other keys appear to be operating normally. I tried deleting and reinstalling drivers with no luck. I have even gone to the extent of replacing the top cover and that still didn't fix the problem. I'm wondering if the motherboard is shot and that's why a few of the keys aren't working properly? Back when the problem arose, my HP warranty conveniently expired only a few weeks prior. My solution so I could still have a working computer was to purchase an external keyboard. Has anyone had a similar issue to mine? Thank you.

I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns

I suggest you run a Keyboard Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Keyboard

Keep me posted how it goes
