Hi @sreehari88 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with Display flickering and artifacts like those described can be caused by a variety of issues, ranging from software and driver problems to hardware malfunctions.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

1. Update Graphics Drivers

  • Download the latest drivers for your graphics card from the HP website or the manufacturer (Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD).
  • Install the drivers and restart your laptop to see if the issue persists.

2. Check for Windows Updates

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 installation is up-to-date.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

3. Adjust Display Settings

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Ensure that the refresh rate and resolution are set correctly for your display.

4. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down your laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery if possible.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn on your laptop.

5. Check for Overheating

  • Overheating can cause display issues. Ensure that the vents and fans are clean and not obstructed.
  • Consider using a cooling pad if the laptop frequently gets hot.

6. Run Hardware Diagnostics

  • HP laptops usually come with built-in diagnostics tools. Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the Esc key until the Startup Menu opens. Then press F2 to open the System Diagnostics.
  • Run a test on the display and graphics to check for hardware issues.

7. Connect to an External Monitor

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable.
  • If the external display works fine, the issue might be with the laptop's screen or its connection.

8. Check for Loose Connections

  • If you're comfortable opening your laptop, check the internal connections between the display and the motherboard.
  • Sometimes, a loose or damaged cable can cause display issues.

9. Revert to a Previous Graphics Driver

  • If the issue started after a recent driver update, rolling back to a previous version might help.
  • Go to Device Manager > Display adapters, right-click on your graphics card, select Properties, and go to the Driver tab. Click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.
