Omen 15 Ce198wm Black screen

I have  the HP Omen 15 ce198wm i8750h gtx 1060 max Q with dedicated video card no igpu enabled by manufacturer on gtx 1060 model I need help I had a vbios flash go bad now i get a black screen . I need to know where the vbios is located for this laptop ..I have been told sometimes the bios and vbios come on the same chip I want to restore the vbios and get it working again can anyone help ?

If the issue persists, after the above steps, try the below:

1. Turn off the notebook.

2. Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.

3. With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key  and the B key at the same time.

      NOTE:

   On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key  and the V key.

4. While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key  and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).

   The HP BIOS Update screen displays, and the BIOS update begins automatically. This might take several minutes, and you might hear additional beeping sounds.

   • If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps. If the issue persists after repeating the steps, skip to the next step to Download a replacement BIOS file.

   • If the Power light turns off, the notebook has turned off because the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds only.

That said, HP laptops do not go with a Video BIOS (vBIOS), however, the above steps should help recover the last known good BIOS and resolve the black screen issue.

I had to perform a disassembly to access the motherboard and in fact there is a vBIOS chip that I reflashed with the stock GTX 1060 MAX Q vbios mage in order to regain video display functionality, vbios sop 8 oin chip is behind the cpu and gpu socket and I had to use a usb programmer and clip to flash it back to the stock good vbios the system bios you refer to is on the other end of the motherboard and is a larger size chip I had numerous attempts with a usb recovery bios created on another computer and that did not help restore gpu functionality the only way that worked was flashing a good vbios onto the vbios located behind the cpu and gpu on the bottom side of the motherboard . I was able to restore my video functionality and got video up and runnning again. In the future HP should allow for a contingency video chip to offer minimal emergency video should the gpu on any hp omen laptop not work or become corrupted as I could not even use the thunderbolt or hdmi port to get any video going when the dedicated gpu vbios was corrupted ...or easier access to vbios and system bios chips would be also beneficial, maybe a smaller emergency video chip to troublehoot any laptop with gpu display issues
