Helping a friend try and fix this monitor and avoid it going into the trash.
The monitor glows and the backlighting works but no signal from the PC comes up and nothing from the OSD.
This monitor is only 3 years old and due to the poor 1 year warranty, I am forced to try and fix it. I have some ideas as to what is bad but need help on opening the case to get to the board(s) inside. I hear it could be as simple as a loose connection or a video driver board, or possibly a bad capacitor.
I already tried the "flashlight on the screen" test and nothing.... as the backlighting seems to be fine.
Can anyone help with this? I am really trying to keep this from the eWaste pile and give my friend a working monitor again!
Thanks
