Hi @Ssadeel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re having issues with charging and connecting your HP pen to your HP ENVY laptop. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify Pen Charging

1.1. Confirm Charging Indicator

  • Check Light Status: The amber light usually indicates that the pen is charging. If it remains amber, it might mean it’s still charging or there could be an issue.
  • Charging Duration: Though the manual suggests a 45-minute charging time, ensure that the pen has indeed been charging for a sufficient amount of time. Some devices take longer to charge initially.

1.2. Recheck Charging Connection

  • Verify Connection: Ensure that the charging cable is properly connected to both the pen and the power source.
  • Try a Different Charger: Use a different USB charger or cable to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, the charging cable or adapter might be faulty.

2. Reset or Re-Pair the Pen

2.1. Restart the Laptop

  • Reboot: Restart your HP ENVY laptop to reset any temporary software issues that might be affecting the pen connection.

2.2. Re-Pair the Pen

Open Bluetooth Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

Add Device:

  • Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  • Select Bluetooth.

Pair Pen:

  • If your pen supports Bluetooth, it should appear in the list of available devices. Select it to pair.

3. Check Pen Compatibility and Drivers

3.1. Verify Compatibility

  • Compatibility Check: Ensure that the pen you have is compatible with your HP ENVY model. Check HP’s official documentation or the pen’s manual.

3.2. Install or Update Drivers

Check for Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates.

Update Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager).
  • Check if the pen is listed under Human Interface Devices or Other devices.
  • Right-click on the device and select Update driver to search for the latest drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
