Pen not recognize

HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bp112dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

LCD was replaced due to physical damage. LCD displays images, works with touch but will not recognize the pen. the pen being used is the HP Pen (1MR94AA) is there any reason why this wouldn't work? could it be a bad LCD? any help would be appreciated. also, tried a clean OS install and still same issue.

Is the display you have replaced is compatible with Pen or stylus?
