Received Micro-Edge earlier this year, left-clicker already broken

Micro-Edge
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My old Lenovo laptop was lacking in certain things like hard-drive space, so I recently ordered a newer HP model. For the most part, it was an improvement. I even liked how the left & right click buttons were actual distinct buttons below the touchpad rather than sitting underneath the bottom corners of it. But then today I heard a "snap" sound when I clicked, and now the left end of the left "mouse" button doesn't work. The right button (which I use less often) is still fine, and if I click the right end of the left button it can click, but I don't want to break that either or risk any further damage so I'm typing this up from  my Lenovo. I don't see any screws for removing the click buttons and seeing what's inside to fix it or for some repair person to do so easily. Is the only possible fix to send it in to an HP factory/warehouse facility for them to fix that part? And how confident can I be that this won't happen again if it happened with less than a month of usage?
