I have an issue where I'm using an avermedia live gamer portable device to capture video from a handycam to my laptop. It works fine with the laptop lid open. When the lid is closed the frame rate and video quality drop. I cannot reproduce this problem on other laptops, it appears to be unique to this laptop. This appears to be an issue with performance drop while the lid is closed even although I have set the power settings to do nothing with the lid closed.

The device connects and is powered via usb.
