Elitebook 840 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought a refurbished Elitebook 840 G4 and I am enjoying it so far. However, the display leaves a lot to be desired. It is a 14" touchscreen with FHD resolution -- but it looks awful from any not-straight-on angle. I know that these notebooks are generally easier to repair/modify than others, and I am hoping to swap the display out for a new one. I don't have a need for the touchscreen capabilities, so I was looking to swap for a 14" IPS FHD or QHD panel, but I am confused about whether or not this is even possible. The service manual notes that the spare parts for touchscreen displays are sold as "whole hinge-ups" while the non-touch displays are sold at subcomponent level (p 19). Reading this, I am thinking that maybe I cannot simply buy a new FHD panel, or if it would even be possible to swap the display for an IPS panel.

I would appreciate any information or leads the community might have about this!
