I understand that you have an HP computer and the screen is black and the caps lock light is blinking. Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Press and hold the power button of the laptop until it powers off completely.
- Disconnect the charger and remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated then leave the battery inside. Do not remove it.
- Press and hold the power button fo the laptop for 15 seconds. This will release the static from it.
- Put the battery back in and connect the charger.
- Power on the laptop.
