Microsoft Windows 11

I dropped my laptop and now (A couple of days later} when I use my clickpad or an airmouse my screen blanks when moving the cursor.
I suspect internal damage, but why a couple of days later?

I deleted the Clickpad driver so as to let the system self install an updated driver but the device disappeared from the manager leaving the clickpad completely disabled. Luckily I had an air mouse which reacted the same as the clickpad.
I suspect the problem is nothing to do with the clickpad at all.

I did run the tests and the clickpad did fail , I did go looking for the log so as show you but could not find it.
Window update did re install the touch pad device and later the driver. The problem seemed resolved but next day the fault was back. I ran GPU-Z and all looks ok. I am running Windows 11, here is the sysinfo.

Hello @Jimnaebother

The notebook should be technically checked. A short circuit occurs when there is movement. The touchpad also plays a role.

In the simplest case the internal display cable behind the screen is no longer seated correctly. It has come loose slightly.

Recommendation and solution

In your case: Service is required !
- The computer should be disassembled and checked.
[Always recommended] Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges should be renewed
[Always recommended] The function of the fan(s) must be checked

The internal display cable that goes from motherboard to screen has to be checked or replaced

The screen has to checked or replaced

- Short circuit test

- Touchpad to has to checked or replaced

- General cleaning ...

HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair

HP warranty expired:

If you can't do that, you should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.

Cheap alternative:

Buy a good used / new notebook.

Good luck
