The screen fills with horizontal and vertical blue and white lines. The normal screen can be brought back by moving it back-and-forth manually, but that will only last for a few seconds or maybe five or 10 minutes. A normal screen can be continuously displayed by grasping the top left corner of the screen between thumb and forefinger and holding slight forward pressure on the screen. That then leaves only the right hand for typing. To me it seems to be an electrical short. After many on line sessions, each lasting an hour or more, and getting bounced around from technician to technician HP support finally has agreed for me to send the computer into them for repair. I do have an HP warranty, but I've been told by HP that my warranty may not cover the repair. This is an HP envy 15, purchased in October 2014.

@hlstewart, Thanks for your response and time.

Thanks for sharing the details.

As you mentioned the screen can be brought back to normal by tilting the screen back and forth manually.

It looks to be a problem with the display cable, As you mentioned that HP support has agreed to repair your PC.

Let us know if you have any concerns after the repair.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
