Screen flickers HP 15-CB028NL.

Hello everyone and happy new year!

I'm asking you to help me with a problem that I noticed this morning on my laptop, an HP 15-CB028NL.

Sometimes the screen flickers, both while opening the computer but also by itself while everything is still resting on the desk.

If the laptop is lifted to move it the screen flickers.

The opening motion of this laptop has always made a noise, but it never flickered.

I have updated the video drivers but I'm afraid it's not a software problem.

The PC is up to date and it has never been used intensively.

I searched on internet but I don't find similar cases.

Do you have any advice or tests that i can do to understand where is the problem.

Vi chiedo aiuto per un problema che abbiamo notato questa mattina con il portatile di mio fratello, nello specifico un HP 15-CB028NL.
A volte lo schermo sfarfalla, sia mentre si apre il computer ma anche da solo mente è tutto fermo appoggiato sulla scrivania.
Se il portatile viene sollevato per spostarlo e di conseguenza il monitor si muove leggermente, questo sfarfalla ancora
Ho fatto un video per farvi capire meglio, link di dropbox.
Il movimento di apertura di questo portatile ha sempre fatto rumore, ma non aveva mai fatto così.
Abbiamo aggiornato i driver video ma ho paura che non sia un problema software.
Il pc è aggiornato e non è mai stato fatto un uso intensivo, anzi.
Ho cercato in rete ma non trovo casi simili, magari era un difetto di fabbrica.
Avete qualche consiglio o prova da eseguire per capire dove sta il problema?

I understand when you power on your laptop the screen keeps flickering on your laptop.

 

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

 

Does the issue persist in BIOS?

 

As you mentioned when you power on your laptop the screen keeps flickering on your laptop.

 

If the issue does not persist in BIOS try updating the graphics driver and BIOS on your PC.

 

Try performing a BIOS default on your PC and check if it helps.

 

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

 

Also, Uninstall the graphics driver from the device manager and install the latest drivers and BIOS from the links below.

Also, update the graphics driver using this link.

 

You can try updating the drivers on your PC using an HP support assistant.

If the screen is flickering in BIOS, it is certainly a hardware issue with your PC.

Thank you for your help.

The screen flickers sometimes, with no regular timing, just random.

On BIOS I did not see anything wrong but i think it is a case, sometimes could happen..

I updated the driver video but it doesen't fix the problem.

I read the article about troubleshoot display issues with your PC in your link and my case is "image on screen flickers, has lines or distorted colors", figure n.1 and n.2. So this is a hardware problem.

Yesterday I brought my pc to an assistance shop near home and the guy confirms that, it is hardware problem.

I need to replace the screen.

We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to check to get to know its hardware is faulty, not a software issue.

 

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
