I purchased an Pavilion X360 14m cd-0001 dx in May 2019. For over a year, it was a good computer that fit my needs. In August 2020, the right hinge failed. This required a case replacement and a new hinge installed by a repair company. Now less than a year later, March 2021, this replacement hinge is failing as well. I currently can't open and close the laptop lid, which makes it difficult and impractical to transport from home to work.
This laptop is used by an adult and it is not abused in any way. While this is out of warranty, the repeated failure of the hinge seems to me a design flaw that HP should address. What can I do to get a permanent fix to this repeated problem?
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!
