Some keys not working on HP Pavillion laptop

Pavillion version not known
Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

Some of the keys on keyboard have suddenly stopped working. It's mainly the middle row apart from g & h. Other rows are ok. Have installed updates but still the same. Please advise - thanks.
