Product: HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14m-dw0013dx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is hard-wired to a TCL TV monitor as a second display. Every time I screen-lock my laptop to leave my workstation, when I unlock my laptop the speakers no longer work on the TV monitor or my laptop. The 'speaker' icon has the red 'x' and the error message says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in".

 

If I disconnect the TV and restart the laptop I can reset both pieces and all speakers work.

 

This is a recently developing problem. I have had my laptop hooked to this TV monitor for a couple of years, never had this issue (losing speaker connectivity after I screen save my laptop) prior to about 4-5 months ago.
