I upgraded to Windows 10, and after the first update the touchpad stopped working. I called Microsoft for help, the technicians were very patient and helpful, infact I learned a lot watching them shadow my laptop. I spent a total of 12 hours on the phone talking with different technicians who ended up escalating the matter as they couldn't fix the problem. They even scheduled an appointment for me to bring my laptop to a Microsoft store at the mall to be fixed, which I now can cancel thanks to this site. I followed the instructions that were posted here, holding the power button down for 10 seconds powering down my laptop, then I removed the battery and power cord, waited about a minute, then put the battery and cord back in, pressed the power button turning my laptop back on and the TOUCHPAD NOW WORKS!!! Microsoft technicians reinstalled Windows 10 three times, checking everything there was to check, installing and uninstalling the Synaptics touchpad driver and nothing worked so they would keep escalating the case, no one at Microsoft knew of this simple and easy fix. Just try it and you'll see..... it worked for me, I hope it will work for you! Thank you to the person who posted these instructions!

Welcome to HP Forum !.
HP not have driver's for Windows 10. Only have drivers for Windows 8-64bits and Windows 7-64bits ... http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dm4-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/508...
However, see ... http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04648748
IMHO, considere return to previous version.
Have a nice day !.
