IMG_20241014_202500.jpgThe screen is in a constant flickering state. I'm going to try to let the battery die, but right now I have nothing. I think this happened because I handled too many tasks at once and maybe my RAM overloaded or something I have no idea.

Hi @LegendJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Chromebook is experiencing a hardware issue, possibly related to the display or the internal components. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the flickering screen.

Force Restart: If your Chromebook is unresponsive, try a force restart. Hold down the Power button for about 10 seconds until it turns off, then press it again to turn it back on.

Check for External Devices: Disconnect any peripherals (like external monitors, keyboards, or USB devices) to see if the flickering persists. Sometimes, external devices can cause display issues.

Boot into Recovery Mode:

  • Turn off your Chromebook.
  • Press and hold the Esc + Refresh (the circular arrow) keys, then press the Power button.
  • If the screen shows a recovery screen, it indicates that the Chromebook is still functional, which may help diagnose the issue.

Let the Battery Drain: If you haven't already, let the battery die completely. Once it's off, plug it in and try turning it on again after a few minutes.

Reset Hardware: If your Chromebook allows it, you can reset the hardware by holding down the Refresh button and tapping the Power button.

Check for Software Issues: If you manage to get the screen working again, check for updates or consider resetting the Chromebook to factory settings if problems persist.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
