Hi @KhushiNahata,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The Sudden shutdown on HP Victus with Ryzen 5 + AMD Radeon graphics while using Adobe Premiere Pro almost always point to thermal throttling, power delivery issues, or GPU driver instability

1.Update AMD Graphics Driver (CRITICAL)

Do NOT rely on Windows Update — install clean drivers:

  1. Download AMD Adrenalin from AMD’s website.
  2. Run it → choose Factory Reset installation.
  3. Reboot.

This fixes 70% of GPU-crash shutdowns in Premiere.

2. Update BIOS + HP Drivers

Go to: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
Enter your model serial number and chose the windows version installed.

Install:

  • Latest BIOS
  • HP System Control Manager
  • AMD Chipset Drivers
  • HP CoolSense (if available)
  • System Event Utility

Restart.

3. Limit Maximum CPU Performance (works for thermal issues)

Premiere does not need full 100% boost on all cores.

Set a temperature-friendly limit:

Windows Power Plan

  1. Control Panel → Power Options
  2. Change plan settings → Advanced power settings
  3. Processor power management
    • Maximum processor state: 95%

This prevents max turbo boost → huge temp drop → no shutdowns.

4. Change HP OMEN Gaming Hub Performance Mode

Victus uses HP’s OMEN software for thermal tuning.

Open OMEN Gaming Hub:

  • Set Performance Mode = Balanced or Quiet
  • Disable Dynamic Boost
  • Enable Max Fans while exporting in Premiere

This stops temperature spikes.

5. Clean Air Vents + Raise the Laptop

Victus laptops throttle hard if airflow is blocked.

Do the following:

  • Use a cooling pad
  • Blow out dust from vents
  • Raise rear with a stand
  • Avoid soft surfaces

6. Run the Laptop Only on Charger

Premiere Pro on battery will:

  • Overheat VRMs
  • Crash GPU
  • Cause instant shutdowns

Always export while plugged in.

I hope this helps.
