15s-fq1003na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I got HP [Personal Information Removed](15s-fq1003na).

Do you know if the laptop above support 2 external monitors? This is a very important question to me.

Premise: I reached the Microsoft support team but they were not able to help me.

I got 2 external monitors, one of those is connected directly through the HDMI port of my laptop, the second screen is connected via HDMI through the docking station which is connected to my laptop via USB C.

Issue: The second screen is not recognised at all.

My question is: Does my laptop support the USB C Thunderbolt in order to connect an external monitor to the laptop itself?

Many thanks

Valerio

Hi@Valerio86, Nearly all HP Pavilion notebooks don't have a docking port therefore you can't get a docking station for your machine or for HP Pavilions.The specs of your machine is

    https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06474274

which shows it has

  • 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
  • 1 AC smart pin;
  • 1 HDMI 1.4b;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo;
  • 1 RJ-45

As you can see, its USB-C port does NOT support video out. At this stage, a docking station using USB-A ports still is a good choice. If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks

Hi Praveenbv,

Thank you for coming back to me.

I was thinking to get this one:

Is it going to work?

Thank you

Valerio

Hi@Valerio86,

 The unit is a consumer segment. The said combination is not tested by HP. So, the functionality is not guaranteed.
