My touch screen has stopped working and I can see in the device manager that the HID-Compliant Touch Screen controller is greyed out. When I click on it is say:
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
Can anyone help me fix this please?

I understand that your touchscreen is not responding. It is listed in Device Manager under HID but it is grayed out with code 45,(Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer) .
