Touch not working missing driver

HP 15-125wm
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Good Day

The computer is suppose to have touchscreen capabilities. I realize that theres no touchscreen driver on the system. How do I go about installing the HP HID Compliant driver. Cant seem to find it on google.

Thanks in advance for any helpful response.

Touch not working missing driver

Hello Kaytasia,

The touch is dependent on the hardware and the drivers are generic.

1. Open device manager

2. HID devices drop down

3. Check for hid touch screen driver.

4. Now, if the driver not available,

( under the view tab of device manager, click show hidden devices)

5. If the HID touch driver is greyed out on list, right click and uninstall it.

6. Restart the system.

Now, if the touch does not work, HP recommends system recovery.

Steps will be  :

1) Turn off and then turn on the computer and repeatedly keep tapping the F11 key, about once every second, until the first screen appears, then follow these instructions:

****Note ( check if the touch works for any of these options ,on the f11 screen)

If the touch does not work, contact the HP support at  :

2) "Choose an Option" screen appears. >Click Troubleshoot.

3) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager. Recovery Manager opens.

4) On the OS selection screen, click your operating system windows 10.

Recovery Manager opens

5)Under "I need help immediately" , click System Recovery /or/Minimize image recovery

6) When System Recovery prompts you to back up your files.

If you have already backed up personal files or you do not want to back up personal files, select Recover without backing up your files, then click Next. Continue to the next step.

7) Click OK in the warnings that appear.

Back up is must if you are performing a system recovery.

If the touch is working on the recovery manager, then the recovery will resolve the issues. Hopefully this will help.

Then please check if the touch works on the recovery manager screen.

Could also be the hardware or the operating system.
