HP Notebook - 15-da0079cl
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Notebook - 15-da0079cl

The left touchpad key is loose and has been for a few months.  While I was replacing the fan and battery, I checked underneath the battery where the touch pad is.  I unfastened the touchpad button control and saw what was there, comparing both right and left buttons.  The two metal pieces that hold the left touchpad button in place are broken.  Apparently I pressed too hard too many times. The button still works, I just have to press it in the middle rather than anywhere on the rectangular "button".

Can I order a part to replace it?  If so, what is the item called and the item number?

Thanks for any input.

Hi @CliffBell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing touchpad issues with your HP Notebook - 15-da0079cl wherein the metal pieces that hold the left touchpad button in place are broken.

This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.

I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this web link
Note: Select your country from the dropdown,  enter the city or postal code, select the product, change the radius, and click on search to locate the nearest HP Service center near your location.

Hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
