HP Pavilion x360 - 11-k062nr
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

About a week ago my HP Pavilion x360 - 11-k062nr had an "imminent hard drive failure" so i replaced the hard drive (simple enough) finally got windows 8.1 working however the touch screen (this model does have a touch screen that was working before the swap) is not being seen. device manager says "I2C HID device" is malfunctioning and ive attempted to auto update the driver for it but the wizard fails and i cant uninstall and reinstall it just reappears. what can i do to get the driver updated and windows to realize i have a touch screen?

Welcome to HP support community.

Install the latest drivers for the touchscreen/chipset using the hp website: www.hp.com/drivers

Also, to ensure the touchscreen is functional, check if it works in BIOS by tapping F19 during a restart, to access the same and get back to us with the results.

Let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately that did nothing as i had already ran through the drivers recommended by the Tool. the only one that failed was the serial bus driver due to a "device mismatch" which is weird because i didnt mess with anything other than the harddrive itself. BIOS is acting correctly however i have zero touchscreen and i dont know where to begin getting that back.

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
