Thanks for the next proposed solution. Unfortunately, this version of W10 Home (20H2) OS does not support the driver you recommended:

Therefore, this solution as proposed does not work.

We can disable the touchpad from the device manager however when you restart the computer it will be enabled again and you need to do this activity every time you restart your computer.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type device manager into the Search box. In the Device Manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices. IDG. Look for your mouse in the Device Manager, to disable its touchpad.
  3. Right-click the touchpad's entry. In the menu that pops up, click Disable.
  4. Confirm your choice in the pop-up window.

while this works, it's also highly annoying that this has to be done on a continual basis to use the laptop as intended. it's not a permanent accepted solution if one must re-fix the hardware each time one restarts the computer.

I recommend you perform a reset on the computer following the steps in the below article and check whether you get the touchpad options that I have listed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

This says it will remove my apps, we have a full suite of Office 2019 loaded (Not MS 365 cloud software). Why must we remove our apps and then have to re-purchase Office 2019 suite again?

If you have registered you do not need to purchase it again. However, I recommend you contact support and they will assist you in this regard.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
