HP Notebook - 14-cf1599sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I purchased a HP Notebook - 14-cf1599sa and two monitors. We are hoping to connect both external monitors showing different displays on each monitor. At the moment the laptop is recognising the HDMI monitor but it cannot recognise the monitor that is plugged in through the usb-c HP connection device that we purchased from HP and which says is compatible with our make of laptop in the specifications. The USB-C device purchased is: 1BG94AA HP USB-C to Multi-port Hub .

When we connect the usb-c device with the monitor plugged in via the hdmi port on the usb-c device we get a message saying that the display connection might be limited.

How do we fix this as it clearly states on HP's specs of the usb-c to hdmi adapter page that this adapter is compatible with our laptop.

Thanks,

Michael

At this stage, USB-C to HDMI is still very grey, you need Alt mode to be able to get video out first. USB docks are still very reliable adapters to connect 2 or more external monitors on notebooks/laptops.

Regards.
