HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew0000 (549V7AV)

Just unwrapped and charged-up my brand new HP x360.  The USB port on the left side does not work.  It's providing power but no data/communication.  It will charge my phone and provide illumination on my mouse but nothing else.  The USB port on the right side works just fine.    Everything I've plugged into the left port does not work or will not be recognized.  I've performed the following trouble shooting steps with no success...

~Disabled/Enabled ports

~Uninstalled / re-installed device

~Updated drivers

~Adjusted port power management

~Restarted after every step....

HELP!   Last thing I was expecting with a brand new computer!

 

 

 

  will charge my phone and the red light on the mouse blinks, but it will not recognize the mouse or communicate with anything.
