HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0977nz
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I've come to ask for help, because i have been planning on buying a usb-c hdmi adapter for my:

HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0977nz

I was planning on buying a better gaming monitor and was thinking of an 1440p 144hz gaming monitor. I am not going to be gaming on this laptop, because i have desktop for that, but i was planning to watch videos and more with on my laptop on my monitor. But can my laptop even put out 144fps on a resolution of 1440 x 2560p? Because i don't know, if it's going to be a hardware bottleneck like not fast enough outputs, or permormance of the rx vega 10 GPU. as i said again, i am NOT going to game on the laptop, but do i have to get a very good usb c adapter, or do i have to look for something else?

thank you.

Hello @Kiyubie_,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I don't think there is any issue with the graphics card and as for the USB-C adapter, if you are looking into connecting a 1440p 144Hz monitor through HDMI, you will need a USB-C to HDMI 2.0 active adapter.

HP has two adapters like this:

HP Pavilion USB-C™ to HDMI 2.0 Adapter 2PC54A

or

HP USB-C to HDMI 2.0 1WC36UT

Third-party adapters should work as well.

Kind regards,

Edward
